Elementary school level running group focused on making running fun and accessible for every student.
You don't have to be the fastest runner.
You don't have to run all the time.
You just have to be willing to move, try your best, encourage your teammates, and have fun.
Walk or run, but always have fun.
Students will:
Learn basic running skills
Play active games
Build endurance
Learn about their muscles, heart, and lungs
Practice good sportsmanship
Encourage their teammates
Work toward personal goals
Have fun!
Practices may include activities covering:
Running Form
How our arms, legs, and body work together when we run.
Warming Up
Why we prepare our bodies before exercising.
Our Bodies
Learning about our heart, lungs, muscles, quads, calves, biceps, and more.
Pacing
Learning that running doesn't always mean sprinting.
Listening to Your Body
Understanding when to push yourself and when to slow down.
Goals
Learning how small steps can lead to big accomplishments.
Teamwork
Cheering for others and celebrating everyone's progress.
